Horizon Christian Pre-Kindergarten staff has worked to develop a caring, enriching, Godly environment for children.

Classes and Age Requirements
Three Pre-kindergarten options are offered:

  • Options 1 & 2: Monday through Friday OR Monday/Wednesday/Friday - He/she must be four years of age on or before September 1 of the school year
  • Option 3: Tuesday/Thursday - He/She must be three years of age AND have their four year birthday by January 1 of the academic year in which they are applying

Goals

  • To give each child an enjoyable introduction into school
  • To present phonics and math concepts in a variety of ways that allow each child to learn within his or her ability
  • Each child will learn the alphabet and corresponding letter sounds, and the basics of reading will be presented
  • Children will make an animal alphabet book and touch-and-feel alphabet cards as fun ways to add to their learning experience

8:30 - 9:00 Hands on entry activities
9:00 - 9:15 Flag salutes, etc
9:15 - 10:-00 Phonics activities
10:00 - 10:30 Snack and recess
10:30 - 11:15 Math activities
11:15 - 11:30 Story Time
11:30 - 12:30 Wash up, lunch, recess
12:30 - 1:00 Bible time, singing
1:00 - 1:30 Hands on learning tasks
1:30 - 1:45 Recess
1:50 - 2:10 Handwriting
2:10 - 2:35 Art/Music/Seasonal activity
2:35 - 2:45 Get ready to go home
2:45 Dismiss
