Horizon’s scheduled number of instructional hours per year exceeds minimum state standards by 22-49% depending on grade level and provides 19.5 more total equivalent instructional days than the Oregon average school district. The following table provides comparative information on Horizon, local practices, and Oregon wide practices.

Horizon does not make up missed snow days since it is our desire to follow the approved Horizon school calendar as much as possible and to be as predictable as possible for our customers. As you can see, the school calendar includes more than sufficient instructional time to cover missed days due to snow and/or ice.
