  • A verifiable Christian testimony
  • Good academic and/or job standing
  • Positive recommendations from previous school or program
  • A State Teaching License/Credential
  • Teaching experience (including student teaching) at the grade level desired

*Your State teaching license must be received prior to employment. For information about licensing you may write or call the pertinent State Department of Education in your case.

Application Process
The Horizon teacher application process requires the exact State teacher license number (e.g. B17425). Failure to include your specific license code could result in a delay in processing your application.

Please send all materials listed below to the Horizon address listed on the front of the application:

  • A completed Horizon Teacher application form* (with correct license information)
  • Your college transcripts for all completed degrees
  • A minimum of two written letters of reference
  • A copy of your current State Teaching Credential
  • Clearly written Christian testimony
  • A cover letter
  • Resume

*Indicating "See Resume" in blanks for experience does not constitute a complete application and may result in disqualification. If you are student teaching at the time you apply, send the application now and the remaining material when you graduate. If you have any questions or need assistance in completing your application, call the Horizon office.

Your application will remain on file for the academic year for which you applied. If you are not hired, you may re-apply. Applications are discarded at the end of one year if you do not re-enroll with us.

Hiring Procedures
When your application has been received in the Horizon office, you will be sent a letter or email indicating you are "under consideration" for employment.
