Principal, The CREST Company

Donald J. Hoffman is the Principal of The CREST Company, a management advisory firm he founded in 1989.  The CREST Company provides consulting services to both corporate and not for profit organizations on a fee basis and to selected Christian organizations throughout the United States on a non-fee, non-expense basis.  

From 1985 through 1988, Mr. Hoffman was President of The Hudson Group, Inc., a 15 location wholesale distributor of building materials. Prior to Hudson, He spent 10 years with International Paper Company in a variety of management positions in marketing, finance, and operations, and was most recently the Manager of Lumber and Plywood operations.  Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of Biola University and received his MBA from California State Polytechnic University Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Hoffman has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors, Horizon Christian School, Hood River, OR since 2003, is Chair of the Wasco, OR County Planning Commission and is a senior leadership volunteer with the National American Red Cross.  He is a Director of Keweenaw Land Association, Limited, Ironwood, MI and Chairman of Cleveland Thermal, LLC of Cleveland, OH.  He is an international business instructor with Columbia Gorge Community College and He and his wife Susan reside near Mosier, OR.

Daniel Boyden

Daniel J. Boyden is the President of Pacific Crest Partners, a real estate development firm he founded in 1991. Pacific Crest Partners develops commercial and residential real estate in Oregon.

Dan grew up in Southern Oregon and attended Oregon State University where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Dan later matriculated to the Harvard Business School and graduated in 1984 with an MBA.

In 1984 Dan joined the Trammell Crow Company, the nation’s largest Real Estate development firm at the time. He was named Partner and President of Trammell Crow Oregon in 1987. Under Dan’s leadership Trammell Crow Oregon managed and developed over five million square feet of office and warehouse space. In 1991 Dan left Trammell Crow to form Pacific Crest Partners.

Dan is Co-Chairman of the Outdoor Advisory Board for Young Life’s Washington Family Ranch in Central Oregon. He previously served as Chairman of the Mid-Columbia Crisis Pregnancy Center, Chairman of Hood River’s Children’s Park and City Councilor for Hood River.

Dan lives on a small pear orchard in Hood River with his wife, Julie, and three sons. He enjoys windsurfing and bird hunting.

Ron Jensen

Ronald Jensen

Ronald Jensen is a founding board member of what is now Horizon Christian School. Ron also serves as board Secretary Treasurer and chairs the prayer committee. He is the owner of Hood River Fruit and Produce, Inc. Ron attended Baptist Christian School, a predecessor of Horizon. Ron and his wife Virginia have six children, all of whom are attending or have graduated from Horizon Christian School.

Dennis Bokovoy

Dennis Bokovoy, MS
Columbia Gorge Community College

Dennis Bokovoy studied at Northwest Christian College and graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in education, biology, and Industrial Arts and a Masters of Science degree in Geology. In 1969 he accepted the Hood River Junior High Science Team Leader position and taught there nine years. Dennis served on the founding boards of the Hood River Alliance Christian Academy in 1982 and Shepherd of the Valley Christian School in 1985, where he also taught for three years and is now on the Horizon School Board. Dennis, as the Geology professor for 15 years at Columbia Gorge Community College, taught the scientific truth of Creation side by side with Evolution with the dean’s approval, rare in a secular college. Dennis is coauthor of four Guides to the National Parks from the Creation Perspective and cofounder of Creation Encounter Tours. Dennis and Yvonne have three grown children and six grandchildren.

Dr. Bob Spotts

Dr. Robert Spotts is a professor of plant pathology at Oregon State University’s Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research Center. He holds BS and MS degrees from Colorado State University and a PhD from Penn State University. He is the author of over 250 publications and has directed research projects in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada. Dr. Spotts has received the OSU Briskey Faculty Excellence award and is a co-inventor on a US patent. He is a founding board member of what is now Horizon Christian School and currently chairs the institutional excellence committee. He is on the board of elders at his local church and his hobbies include fly fishing, backpacking, cross country skiing, and travel with his wife, Kim.

Darrin Lingel

Darrin Lingel

Darrin Lingel attended Boise Bible College one year. He then pursued a career in Respiratory Therapy where he practiced for 10 years. His career took him to Ontario Oregon, Boise Idaho, LaGrande Oregon and The Dalles Oregon where he primarily worked in intensive care. Darrin and his wife Debbie currently own and operate two Papa Murphy’s Take-N-Bake pizza restaurants in The Dalles and Hood River. They have three wonderful children Aaron, Hannah and Caleb. The Lingel family have lived in the Columbia Gorge for over 13 years and enjoy the outdoors.

Paul Mansur

Paul Mansur
Columbia Gorge Insurance Group

Paul is originally from Massachusetts and received a degree in forest management from the University of Massachusetts. During the Vietnam War, he was a major in the U.S. Air Force and served as a jet and helicopter pilot. After the war, Paul worked for the Forest Service for many years and is now the owner and broker of Columbia Gorge Insurance Group. He and his wife Cici have lived in the Hood River area since 1978 and raised two sons.

Nancy Rinella

Nancy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies/Education with an emphasis on Social Science from Oregon State University, and taught at a Christian school. She has been vice-president of the Columbia Gorge Pregnancy Resource Center and vice-president of the Students Associates Auxiliary at KCOM where she received the Gutensohn Service Award. Nancy is married to Dr. Joe Rinella and they have four children. They attend the Hood River Alliance church and Nancy enjoys reading, swimming, basketball, biking, hiking and other family activities.
